PROJECT SUMMARY
CATS delivered rail upgrade works during a critical shutdown period. Large sections of the rail formation was required to be replaced with new associated drainage measures installed. CATS scope involved dewatering, service location and isolation, RCP and subsoil installation, detailed excavation, earthworks, foundation preparation and testing, cement stabilised basecourse placement, sub-ballast capping construction, ballast and sleeper placement, sealing, asphalting and site tidy up.
OUR ROLE
Mass dewatering of the area and pumping to approved bunded area.
Box out and disposal of rail formation down to new foundation. Contaminated material management
Foundation Preparation including geo-fabric placement and testing.
Install of cement stabilised base course for substrate layer.
Placement, preparation and testing of limestone sub-ballast capping layer.
Ballast and sleeper install.
Installation of RCP and pit pipe network to upgrade drainage.
Install of track sub-soil drainage system to prevent subsidence.
Rock pitching
Construct granular pavements to road areas.
Two coat seal and asphalt to road areas.
