Mental health and wellbeing are vital in the construction industry. Our advocacy for MATES in Construction is part of our ongoing commitment to promoting mental health awareness and providing essential support to workers facing challenges.
Over the years, we’ve directed employees to MATES in Construction when they needed support, and we recognise the importance of raising awareness and reducing stigma around mental health. As we continue to grow, we look forward to finding more ways to get involved and contribute to the incredible work they do for workers and their families.
At CATS, we recognise the importance of Indigenous cultural awareness and the role it plays in building a more inclusive and respectful industry. We had the opportunity to take part in cultural awareness training with the Spear Foundation, and it reinforced just how vital their work is in promoting understanding, reconciliation and meaningful change.
The Spear Foundation provides education and training to help businesses and individuals engage with Indigenous culture in a way that fosters respect, inclusion and long-term impact. As we continue our own journey of learning and growth, we acknowledge the value of Indigenous knowledge, traditions and contributions in shaping our communities and workplaces.Creating opportunities and supporting Indigenous employment in the construction and rail industries is something we are passionate about. The On Track Program plays a vital role in providing training and employment pathways for Indigenous Australians, helping to build skills and long-term careers in civil construction and rail.
We are proud to have employed individuals from this program, giving them the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop their careers within our team. Programs like On Track are essential in strengthening workforce diversity, supporting Indigenous participation, and ensuring the industry benefits from a skilled and inclusive workforce.
As the peak body representing the civil construction industry in Western Australia, CCF WA plays a vital role in advocating for businesses, improving industry standards, and providing professional development opportunities.
