Metronet Thornlie to Cockburn Link - Drainage Infrastructure and Underground Tank

PROJECT SUMMARY
CATS was engaged by the Alliance to undertake multiple drainage contracts on the project for both the Metronet link and the newly aligned ARC Infrastructure freight rail. CATS planning and close working relationship with the client ensured successful and safe outcomes for all involved.
OUR ROLE
Humesceptor: CATS installed large precast Humesceptor tanks with the scope requiring install of sheetpiles and bracing, dewatering, excavation to -7m, concrete slabs, cranage, tank install and backfill, associated drainage infrastructure.
Mainline Drainage: Install of both RCP and sub soil drainage on the ARC infrastructure line between Cockburn and Thornlie. CATS provided all labour and plant to carry out the works. The works included excavation, install and backfill to the subgrade levels.
Sorbonne Crescent Drainage: Install RCP and pits on the local government network including dewatering, temporary works and shoring, community and stakeholder management, pavement reinstatement, concrete slabs and asphalting.
Water Corporation Greenway Drainage: This required the install of twin barrel 1.05m diameter Water Corporation branch drain staged across the rail alignment. The scope included construction of associated insitu and precast deep pits, dewatering, sheet piling, community liaison, concrete encasement and finishing works.
